What to expect in Couple’s Therapy?

Couple’s Therapy focuses on supporting your relationship’s health, goals, and longevity. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from couple’s therapy. Checking inn on mutual goals, hopes for the future, polishing up on communication skills, or discussing life decisions can all be supported by couple’s therapy. Additionally, therapy can give you the coping skills and dedicated space to work through reoccurring conflicts, difficult cycles and patterns, affair repair or ruptures of trust, parenting issues, and many other challenges. As a Gottman Method Trained Therapist, I will utilize specific tools and exercises that cater to your relationship’s specific needs and goals.

What to Expect

As your therapist, I will make sure you feel comfortable and safe before we dive in to the difficult things. As a Gottman Level II Therapist, I will start by sharing some very foundational communication skills that will aid us in all of our future work together. You will leave the first session with tools you can begin to use at home immediately.

Together, we will identify your goals and hopes for therapy and explore the ways your past and current relationship dynamics, romantic relationships, communication patterns, conflict resolution styles, and perspectives towards partnership are affecting your current experience.
