What are you like as a therapist?

As a person?

These are two very fair questions! You want to know what to expect in the style and interventions you will receive in treatment, but your therapist is also a human being. And you deserve to know a bit about them before agreeing to share your inner world. As a therapist, I am passionate about social justice, and believe it is relevant to most conversations related to healing relationships with ourselves, with others, or with our bodies. Together, we will examine how your relationship with yourself, your partner or your body has been influenced by past experiences, societal expectations, and day to day stressors. My theoretical orientation is relational and psychodynamic in nature, with a generous helping of humor and kindness.

On a personal level, I fit into a lot of therapist stereotypes! I enjoy a mental health walk, I love curling up with a good book, and I am a big believer in journaling! Big surprise! I am also a yoga teacher, and teach several classes each week at my local studio. I have five chickens and two pit bulls (always happy to have our dogs meet each other over zoom) and a garden that I tend to regularly.
